OUR ELEMENTARY SCHOOL - POSTPONED

We have postponed the opening of the elementary school program. New opening date TBD.

OUR FOREST EXPLORERS PROGRAM - 

We have room for up to 14 children each day in our Forest Explorers Program. Currently, we are taking new families. Contact admin@nanaimoinnovation.org.

OUR FOREST PRE-K PROGRAM - FULL

We have 8 children each day in our 3-5 Forest Program. Currently, we are full and are not taking any additional names on our waitlist. We will reopen the waitlist May 1, 2025.

OUR PRE-K PROGRAM - FULL

We have 16 children each day in our 3-5 Program. Currently, we are full and are not taking any additional names on our waitlist. We will reopen the waitlist May 1, 2025.

FOR UNDER 3 YEARS - FULL

We have two Infant Toddler classes for 8 children in each. Currently, we are full and are not taking any additional names on our waitlist at this time. We will reopen the waitlist May 1, 2025.

WAITLIST PROCEDURES:

We keep our waitlist manageable so that we can realistically predict start times. We typically add not more than 20 families on each program's waitlist for the coming academic year.

​

Our waitlist opens every May 1 at 8:30am on our Facebook Page. There is no charge to join our waitlist. We close the waitlist when we reach about 20 families.

​

Available spaces in each program are then offered in the following order:

1. Nanaimo Innovation Academy staff

2. Current children attending Nanaimo Innovation Academy

   1. First within the program (adding days or changing days)

   2. Then moving from one program to another

3. Siblings of current children attending Nanaimo Innovation Academy, in the order they requested to be put on the waitlist.

4. Our waitlisted families, in the order of when they joined the waitlist.

5. Please note, Nanaimo Innovation Academy will do their best to go in order as listed here but reserves the right to call upon anyone regardless of order, based on program dynamics and requirements.

 

If a space is offered to a family and they do not take the space, they are removed from the waitlist.

When a space is offered, families are required to do a tour and meet with staff prior to enrolling. This is to ensure that we are the right fit for families before they decide to join our program.  

​

Families who decide to enroll will be required to submit a non-refundable tuition deposit of $500.00 in order to retain the space for their child until the agreed start date. The total amount of the deposit will be used toward the last month’s fees.  

​

We believe in a transparent waitlist process. At any time, you can request to see where you are in the order. We send email updates a couple of times a year and connect with families about their current child care needs in April. To stay on our waitlist, families must fill out the form emailed to them each April.
